Following his remarkable four-home-run performance against Missouri, Calvin Harris is gaining nationwide attention.

In a challenging season, every small achievement counts. Ole Miss baseball can relish the triumph of catcher Calvin Harris after his standout performance over the weekend against Missouri.

For his impressive performance in the Rebels’ series against the Tigers, despite the overall loss, Harris received the SEC Co-Player of the Week and Golden Spikes Award Performance of the Week recognitions. In totality, Harris demonstrated strong skills both at batting and catching, but his four home runs significantly contributed to Ole Miss’ 20-14 victory.

Harris hit home runs in the third, fourth, and sixth innings, making him one of only eight players in Rebels’ history to achieve a three-home-run game. However, it was his two-run homer in the ninth inning that truly set him apart.

Following a 1-0 count, Harris decisively drove the ball beyond the center-field wall at Taylor Stadium, bolstering the Rebels’ lead by eight. By the end of the afternoon, his stats stood impressive at 4-for-6, including four home runs and 10 RBIs.

Over the course of the week, Harris recorded a .471 batting average (8-for-17), including five home runs, a triple, 13 RBIs, and nine runs. Not only did he break the Rebels’ single-game home run record, but Harris also equaled the single-game RBI record, which Charlie Conerly set against Milsaps back in 1947.
